On December 6, 2024, the KNX China Organization Member Conference and Technical Exchange Conference was successfully held at the Hilton in Beijing. Members gathered to share KNX technology and application achievements, actively exploring new development ideas for KNX.
During the event, the handover ceremony for the President of KNX China was successfully conducted, announcing that Mr. Kevin Liao, General Manager of the Smart Control Department of GVS SMART CO., LTD., will officially assume the role of the new Rotating President for KNX China Organization for 2025.
Mr. Kevin Liao, the new president, expressed his deep honor at being able to serve as the Rotating President, considering it a significant milestone in his professional career. He pledged to fulfill his new responsibilities with full enthusiasm and a strong sense of duty.
At the meeting, Mr. Jack Zhan, General Manager of International Sales at GVS, shared his insights as a KNX expert in overseas market promotion, providing a summary of the work in 2024 and outlining the prospects for venturing abroad together in 2025.
Mr. Jack Zhan highlighted the principle of 'go glable and bring in,' which was the guiding philosophy throughout the overseas market promotion in 2024. This included, but was not limited to: engaging in exchanges with KNX national organizations to understand industry and market conditions; organizing outbound visits for domestic companies to facilitate mutual exchanges; fostering multi-faceted collaborations with other KNX national organizations in exhibitions and both online and offline platforms, promoting companies to participate in overseas exhibitions and inviting foreign brands to exhibit in China; coordinating with KNX International Association activities to enhance the visibility of KNX China Organization, and more.

As a pioneer in the Chinese KNX field, GVS joined the KNX International Association in 2008, becoming one of the first domestic enterprises to introduce KNX bus technology in China. In 2013, GVS participated in the conversion of KNX international standards into Chinese standards, and in 2015, it became a member of the KNX China Organization Council. In 2018, GVS had ascended to become the Rotating Chair Unit of KNX China Organization.
GVS upholds technology-driven development. In 2011, they launched the K-BUS smart control system based on KNX technology. Until now, they have accumulated certifications for 7 KNX core protocol stacks, enabling them to develop products with more complex functions and better tailored to individualized needs.
GVS, with its KNX Training Center - the first one in China, is also nicknamed as “the cradle of KNX in China”. The company has conducted over 70 KNX Basic Courses and 4 KNX Tutor Courses with trainees of 1500+, contributing significantly to the industry by nurturing a large number of technical talents and driving industry development.
Building on past achievements, GVS once again assumes the important role of the rotating chair unit of KNX China Organization after 2018. After 7 years, GVS returns with even richer industry experience and innovative ideas.
In this new term, GVS will actively fulfill its responsibilities, play a leading role, and drive KNX China Organization to further implement the "go global and bring in" strategy on the international stage. This will involve advancing to new heights in various aspects such as technical exchanges, market expansion, and international cooperation. Together with other member units, GVS aims to collectively pave the way for a bright future in the field of KNX building intelligence.
